I thoroughly enjoyed this class, especially the hands on experience I was able to obtain through the coaching experiences and the technology workshop project. There were many assignments on the checklist to be completed that contributed to my education within the educational technology realm of this specialist degree including:
From the list above, I believe the Coaching Journal and the One Hour Technology Workshop contributed the most, overall, to me during the duration of this class.
Coaching Journal (see file below): There were a total of five coaching sessions that Mrs. Kimberly Sanders and I participated in regards to technology integration in the classroom. KS and I have been working together for two years, and a few years ago she was my student teacher, so there is a history of working together and collaborating on content and technology related concepts and information. We had a plan of attack for each coaching session and worked collaboratively, with me being more of a guiding force than that of a training one. As we are currently teammates, teach the same students, and work across the hall from other another, our strength is in communication and knowing how the other operates in certain academic situations. All of the coaching sessions were just another opportunity to strengthen our team to better address the needs of our students.
One Hour Technology Workshop: This was much more than just a one hour workshop! Before any workshop, there are many things to do, many things to create, and many things to prepare for in case plan A does not work. To make sure everything went smoothly, I had to prepare a few flyers and announcements to promote the workshop, handouts for the teachers during the workshop, and a lesson plan and instructional agenda to keep the focus of the topic at hand. Overall, it was a very successful workshop in my eyes, and from the feedback provided from participants.
